Our garlic is grown utilising organic principles whereby no chemicals or pesticides are used.  Two types of garlic were chosen after 2 years of test planting on the 40+hectare property to ascertain the best site and varities for the area.  The property was purchased in 2009 and organic principles have been applied since purchase, and we plan to apply for organic certification in the coming years.

Some of the 2014 crop ready for sale

October 2014

The plants are developing beautifully, with some extra watering, the bulbs should be fantastic this year.

September 2014

Another great winter, with some eally good cold spells to assist the bulbs.  The garlic beds look great so here is hoping for a decent spring so the bulbs develop

May 2014

With the great Autumn break experienced over Central Victoria the first plantings were done the first week of May.  Approximately 60% of the garlic was planted, with the balance to be planted late May early June. We have also planted some garlic seed which should be ready for harvest in 3 years

January 2014

Happy New Year to all!  Garlic was lifted the last weekend of December, cleaned and graded the first week of January.  The garlic looks great and should be ready for sale in February

December 2013

Hope to be lifting the garlic last weekend of the year.  Spring has been fantastic, and the cool stat to Summer with follow up rain has allwed the garlic to keep growing right through December.  If you want advance notice to purchase, click on the contact and drop vicki an email , and she will send you an order form before the garic goes officially on sale

August 2013

One of "the girls" after a hard morning weeding

Fantastic rain over June and July.  Garlic sprouts poking up their heads and looking really good.  If the Spring rains appear consistently (unlike last year) then the crop will be excellent.  But like all agriculture, " it ain't a crop until it is in the shed! "

February 2013

All garlic was sold by mail order.  We have started preparing for planting, the beds are being prepared, composted and awaiting the Autumn break.  (Fingers crossed!!).  Our planned planting time will be last week of March, hoping for good rain over March to build up the soil moisture prior to planting

January 2013

The crop was lifted by Vicki and myself first week of January, and pre orders already received will go out late January early February.

December 2012

Close to harvesting , even though the last few months have been relatively dry, it has rained at the right time to keep the ground moisture levels suitable for the garlic.  What we need now is a couple of dry weeks to allow harvesting early January 2013!
